🧭 About Me

I’m a founder, operator, and capital strategist with experience building and financing capital-intensive hardware, manufacturing, and innovation-driven businesses.

Over 25+ years, I’ve worked across operating leadership, venture, private equity, public markets, and company-building roles. I’ve raised $250M+ in private capital, advised on $500M+ in public equity offerings, and supported $1B+ in M&A/deal value.

My background blends capital strategy with operating accountability: manufacturing scale-up, customer economics, cost accounting, investor-facing finance, lender/leasing negotiations, board reporting, audit support, and hands-on execution with complex hardware.

I’m most effective in environments where strategy, capital, operations, and disciplined execution have to come together quickly.

Sectors: Hardware, manufacturing, infrastructure, AI, software, and energy systems.

🔧 What I’ve Built

  • Inktomi Corporation – Co-founder. Merged scalable search technology with a DARPA-backed Berkeley project to form Inktomi. Defined early strategy and directed commercial rollout. Led go-to-market and secured major deals (Microsoft, Yahoo, AOL). IPO in 1998; peak $25B market cap.
  • Monarch Capital Partners — Co-founded and raised a $30M early-stage fund. Invested in and supported portfolio companies across enterprise technology and infrastructure, including Endeca (acquired by Oracle for $1.1B). Served on multiple boards and helped drive capital formation and strategic positioning.
  • Convergent Resources (Trilogy Capital) – Originated and structured a receivables management roll-up. Helped recruit the founding CEO and secured $75M in equity and debt from CGW Southeast Partners and others.
  • Encell Technology – Founded and scaled a capital-intensive battery technology company serving infrastructure and enterprise markets. Grew the company from zero employees, products, and revenue to ~90 employees and a ~$30M revenue run rate. Helped build owned manufacturing for proprietary battery products, established contract manufacturing for a second product line, and expanded global commercialization. Encell also developed a proprietary, patented battery management system combining hardware, software, and optional cloud-based recurring revenue; the BMS business was sold/spun off in 2014.

🧠 Portfolio Projects

  • Developed a Python-based valuation engine (DCF/OPM/PWERM/waterfall allocation) to support 409A valuations and deal underwriting; AI-assisted automation enabled rapid scenario analysis and reporting.
  • Architected AI-driven research frameworks applying advanced statistical modeling (HMM, LSTM, regression, gradient boosting) to identify structural market patterns and decision frameworks.

Each reflects a build-fast, learn-fast, fix-fast mindset. I’m deeply hands-on and comfortable in the zero-to-one trench.

🎯 What I’m Looking For

I’m interested in senior executive roles with founder-led, investor-backed, or growth-stage companies where capital strategy, operating discipline, and company-building execution are central to the mandate.

I’m especially energized by:

  • Capital-intensive businesses, hardware and manufacturing scale-ups, and technology-enabled platforms
  • Recurring-revenue models, hardware subscriptions, and commercialization inflection points
  • Situations where capital strategy, finance, and operations help the company move faster responsibly

Also open to:

  • Select strategic finance, corporate development, or M&A/strategy roles within platform builds
  • Advisory or board roles where the fit, mission, and value-creation potential are compelling
  • Location: U.S.-based, open to relocation

📈 Career Highlights

  • Building high-performing teams, culture, and board-level trust

I thrive in environments where execution matters more than optics — and where strategy, speed, and accountability drive outcomes.
